Murat Gögebakan Kalbim Yarali

The biopic „Murat Gögebakan: Kalbim Yarali" (translated: Murat Gögebakan: My Heart is Wounded) by director Ali Akyildiz tells the moving life story and career of the Turkish singer of the same name, who rose to become a celebrated rock star in the 1990s. In 1997 he was named "Singer of the Year" in Turkey and his first album "Ben Sana Asik Oldum (translated: I fall in love with you)" became the best-selling record. In 2009, his wife leaves him. He falls ill with leukaemia and pours all his pain into his songs, once again touching the hearts of his fans. In 2014 he succumbs to cancer, but leaves behind the music of a man who was full of love.

Murat Gögebakan was born in Adana, Turkey, in 1968. He spent the first ten years of his life in Germany. He completed his music studies at the State Conservatory in Ankara. Without financial means, he made it to the top. His passionate success story with many pains and difficulties left hundreds of hits and millions of fans.
